HAPPY 2024!
We can’t wait for another year of translating complex ideas into visuals people ‘get’ at a glance.
Looking back at 2023, we’re really proud of the work we’ve done — thanks to our amazing partners.
In 2023, we worked with 24 clients
from over 7 states
located in 5 countries
and across 4 continents.
Your work made a difference across all of our 5 changemaker categories.
This includes many types of projects:
UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC):
The IPCC is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. We collaboratively designed 24 figures for the IPCC AR6 Synthesis Report together with 60+ climate scientists and with input and approval by 195 governments.
The figures were designed to help non-experts understand complex climate science, and the resulting figures were shared widely around the world.

Throughout all this, we’ve expanded our own learning and shared those best practices with you.
Looking to 2024, we look forward to future collaborations and change-making — and continuing to grow our own experiences.
Our 2024 Resolutions:
Arlene: Publicly share more about visual storytelling and find a rhythm for mindful meditation
Karen: Keep in-touch with change-making organizations, celebrate their 'wins' in making a more sustainable & equitable planet, and create more flora and fauna-themed mosaic art pieces
Meagan: Learn more about how motion can help tell complex stories & build animation skills in AfterEffects, and join a community garden
Rose: Continue learning about accessibility best practices and dabble in hand lettering
Nichole: Stay updated on research-based trends in design theory and best practices in our field, and bring more in-person art experiences to myself and my family (more museums, galleries, and exhibits!)
Lisa: Create illustrations that help people connect with the beauty and magic of nature and to deepen my own connection with local wild spaces by doing lots of hiking on the trails near my home
Cotty: Introduce Background Stories to new clients domestically and abroad and seek out new small, local businesses that are representative of historically disadvantaged owners to support
